But For Reals...

I have read some blogs lately that include a lot of lists...now I always been a huge fan of lists. I feel like its a really nice way to compile a lot of info in a ordered manner. that being said, I'd like to make a list of all the upcoming fall movies that I'm pretty jazzed about seeing:

1.) The Darjeeling Limited-the new Wes Anderson movie. He never disappoints.

2.) August Rush-a fluff movie about an adopted boy trying to find his parents (what can I say...it hits home)

3.) The Curious Case of Benjamin Button-based on the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald and starring Brad Pitt. It doesnt get any better than that.

4.) American Gangster-2 names. Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.

5.)Balls of Fury-Christopher Walken as a ping pong ace. Now this i want to see just for a good laugh.

And...looking ahead:

1.) Beowulf-oh come on UD grads...you know you are interested in this one...at the very least, you will all go see it to criticize it and point out its inconsistencies.

2.) National Treasure: Book of Secrets-the sequel to that original adventure romp. probably fluff but really fun fluff.

3.) Prince Caspian-I so enjoyed the first adaptation and am eager to see Eustace again.

4.) Indiana Jones IV-its a classic. plus Cate Blanchett is going to be in it and i am 99.9% sure that she never makes a bad movie.

5.) The Dark Knight-I have loved Christian Bale since Newsies. Plus, it was filmed in Chicago. Represent.

Dark Knight, Indiana 4, National Treasure, yes, yes. Also, this American Gangster movie-- every Ridley Scott movie I have seen has not only been good, but great. Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men. If you haven't seen all of those, you must.

But, on a note of disappointment, Eustace Clarence Scrubb (who almost deserved it) does not appear until The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. What a cool name for a ship, by the way; way to go, Jack.

Why is Dawn Treader such a cool name? No doubt there is a literary allusion here which I am missing, but as you and Clive Staples Lewis are on a first name basis, perhaps you could explain his meaning?

I don't know that it means anything. It's just cool. Because instead of treading water, it treads dawn... and they're chasing dawn-- where sea and sky meet, where the waves go sweet, there, O Reepicheep, there is the utter east. or something.
