pastiche \pas-TEESH; pahs-\, noun:
1. A work of art that imitates the style of some previous work.
2. A musical, literary, or artistic composition consisting of selections from various works.
3. A hodgepodge; an incongruous combination of different styles and ingredients.
This was today's word of the day. Pastiche. I love it because it sounds like a parasite. Some small, East-African parasite that is commonly found in pineapple trees or something like that. It means the exact opposite of how it sounds. Such a fascinating concept. It could also be some Shakespearian insult, like, "Thou art a cowardly pastiche," or "die a thousand deaths you ignorant, despicable pastiche."
Either way, have fun with this...
